Professional coaching is an individual or group creative process designed to help a client or team achieve a set objective.
Professional coaching: methodology and content
The coaching methodology and tools are based on active listening to the client and to his needs, and are governed by ethical commitments that guarantee confidentiality and quality of service. The coaching code of ethics as defined by the main international federations (ICF, EMCC…) is the coach’s framework. In this respect, the latter undertakes to :
Respect the client’s values and objectives
The coach will remain unconditionally constructive and creative when he/she gives her/his opinion. He/she will systematically focus on the customer’s objective and expressed desires. Her/his personal interests, whatever they may be, will never have any place in the relationship established with the client.
Respect the client’s confidentiality
as well as the content of conversations and all information relating to its professional and/or personal life. Only the express written agreement of the beneficiary can authorize the coach to lift the confidentiality clause.
Provide coaching services
insofar as the request falls within its area of competence. The coach will refrain from providing advice relating to specialties for which he/she is not qualified (psychoanalysis, therapy, etc.).
Ongoing development
as a coaching professional, in particular through external supervision of his or her work by certified and empowered coaches/mentors.
